WHY SHOULD I ORDER FROM OPPURE OIL?

Oppure Oil proudly delivers pure petroleum unblended #2 heating oil. We deliver safely, kindly, affordably, and on time with zero fees, contracts, or commitments. Additionally, we offer the lowest minimum quantity (75 gal.) purchase in our industry.

WHEN SHOULD I PLACE MY ORDER FROM OPPURE OIL?

When your oil tank is between one-quarter and one-half full, it’s time to order.

HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?

You can call our office at 800-359-4802 during business hours or order online 24/7.

Do I need to be home for the delivery?

You do not need to be home for the deliveries. However, keep these things in mind:

  • Make sure your house is visibly numbered.
  • Keep gates unlocked so we can gain access to your fill pipe.
  • If more than one oil fill pipe is located on the property make sure each one is VERY clearly marked.
  • Keep biting pets out of reach.
When can I expect my delivery?

Please check out our delivery map for up-to-date delivery windows.

WHAT IS YOUR SNOW POLICY?

Our drivers are instructed to complete delivery if the truck can be safely parked within 100 feet of the fill station and the snow depth is knee-high or under. A path cleared of snow and a salted driveway is preferred and much appreciated. There are situations when we cannot take the truck out or have delays during and after snowstorms. This may lead to an increase in wait times. If we cannot deliver within our original quoted delivery window, you will receive an updated notification from our office.

HOW DO I PAY FOR THE OIL?

We accept Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Visa cards, money orders, and cash.

WHEN DO YOU CHARGE MY CARD?

Upon you placing the order Oppure secures the funds. For specified gallon amounts, we charge your card when a fill-up is ordered. We pre-authorize the card for 250 gallons of fuel.

Why do I see the delivery truck so early in the morning or after dark?

Our founder, Mike Hatzopoulos, takes pride in being on time. When we quote a delivery date, we do everything we can to fill that order on time, if not early. Oppure is 99% reliable within our original quoted window. This often requires overtime for our staff. We understand our customers may not want to see a truck so early in the morning or during dinner time. In winter, it is common for us to begin our day as early as 5:30 AM, and finish our routes at 6:30 PM. We ask for your understanding. If you experience an early morning or evening delivery, and find it unpleasant, please call us and we will notate your account accordingly. Other than winter hours, we typically begin delivery at 7:30 AM.

One time I got a same-day delivery. Why can’t I always get same-day delivery?

Emergency delivery is not a service we provide. Oppure proudly runs its operation without fees, thus charging a same-day delivery fee directly contradicts our no-fee policy. However, we understand the need and genuinely want to help in an emergency when we can. Every day we work tirelessly to keep up with demand. If we are unable to fill an emergency order, please understand it is not personal. It just comes down to time and inventory. It is always best to place your order the moment you realize you have an emergency. Doing so expedites our ability to get to your house sooner rather than later.

What is a prime, and do you offer them?

If a tank runs empty, the oil pump will become air-bound and unable to pull fuel from the tank once we refill it. In this case, your pump needs to be primed. Many heating oil dealers offer this service for a fee. For these reasons, we decided not to offer this service:

  • Our drivers are not Massachusetts-licensed burner technicians. Therefore, they are not permitted to perform this operation or any other service involving heating equipment.
  • Scheduling: It is difficult to pinpoint exactly when the delivery truck will arrive.
  • Oppure Oil does not have a service division.
  • Oppure proudly runs a fee-free operation. Thus, charging a priming fee directly contradicts our no-fee policy.

If your pump requires a prime and you do not know how to do it yourself, contact one of our Providers.

I call right when the office opens, and I am often told dispatching is done for the day. But my tank is empty!

Online orders are processed and mapped instantly, resulting in faster delivery. During the heating season dispatching happens around 4:30 AM. Our dispatcher’s job is to get the oil trucks on the road by 5:30 AM. Thus, when our office opens at 8:00 AM, the day’s route and inventory are already scheduled. We always do our best to make special accommodations to break the route and deliver on an emergency basis when we are able. We always try our best and never charge you a fee.

I live in zone 3 meaning sometimes I can wait 3 BUSINESS DAYS for oil depending on when I order. Can something be done to speed up the process?

We normally operate on the next business day however at times of high demand it may take us 3 business days to make the delivery. The best advice is to sign up for automatic delivery, place your order online, or purchase one of our tank monitors. If you order with a quarter tank or more in reserve, you will not run out before we arrive.
